JourneyDeck is an iPhone app that records drives and builds an optional soundtrack from your authorized Apple Music listening history. Start a journey before you drive, then revisit its route and the songs JourneyDeck matched to it. Recording is manual and local first; a soundtrack is optional.

Identify Song uses ShazamKit when you ask it to listen; JourneyDeck does not keep an audio recording.

How it works

Tap Start Journey before setting off. JourneyDeck records your route, distance, and time on your iPhone.
If you connect Apple Music, JourneyDeck checks music playing during the journey and recent listening history to match available songs to the drive. Some song times and locations may be approximate, and a song may not always be found.
End the journey when parked. Revisit the route and saved soundtrack, or add the drive to a Memory with photos and notes.

Start a journey

Before driving, start recording on your iPhone. You can also use Siri or the Apple Watch companion to start and stop a journey on your paired phone.

Choose your music

Authorize Apple Music for optional soundtrack matching. Identify Song is available as a separate, user-initiated option.

Look back

End the journey when parked, then open its route and soundtrack. Add the drive to a Memory if you want to keep more of the day together.

Your archive starts on your device

Route recording works without Apple Music, an account, or a server connection. Sign-in and private iCloud sync are optional. Read the JourneyDeck privacy policy for details.

Yes. JourneyDeck records journeys you start on your iPhone and can match songs from your authorized Apple Music listening history to each recorded drive. It does not guarantee a match for every song.

Do I need Apple Music to record a drive?

No. Route recording works without Apple Music. An active Apple Music subscription is needed for its automatic soundtrack option; manual song recognition is another optional method.

Is JourneyDeck a navigation app?

No. Set up recording before driving and do not interact with the app while operating a vehicle.
